Summer Fashion Tips

Summer Fashions - cafashion - July 15, 2017

Summer is definitely one of my favorite seasons because of the warm weather and endless fun that comes with it. But, as we all know, summer heat can be overwhelming, and if you don’t dress appropriately, you’re likely to end up all sweaty and probably sun burnt. These fashion tips can help you stay cool, comfortable and stylish throughout summer:

Choose Light Colors Over Dark Ones

Dark-colored clothes absorb more heat and light making you feel hotter and sweatier than light-colored ones. For this reason, you’re better off wearing light-colored clothes during summer because they reflect light and keep you airy and cool.

Summer Fashion Tips

Go With Natural Makeup

Wearing heavy makeup on a hot summer day is not advisable. It will certainly melt because of the excess heat, leaving you looking scary. So, put away your heavy foundation, heavy black eyeliner, dark lipstick and dark eyeshadows.

Instead, use tinted moisturizers and lip balms, liquid highlighters and neutral eyeshadows to give you that nice summer glow that will make you stand out among your friends.  Here is a tutorial on putting on summer make up.

Wear a Wide-Brimmed Hat To Protect Yourself From The Damaging Sun

Be sure to protect yourself from the harsh and harmful sun rays as you enjoy the summer season. You can do so by wearing a broad spectrum sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, as well as long-sleeved shirts and pants (they have to be light and loose of course). If you don’t have a hat, carry a lightweight, woven scarf with you if possible. You can use it to cover your head and shoulders when the weather is too hot.

Wear Loose Clothes Made Of Natural Fabrics

The looser your clothes are, the cooler and more comfortable you’ll feel during summer. So, opt for loose and flowing clothing as opposed to form-fitting ones. This applies to dresses, tops, shorts, skirts and every other thing you plan to wear during this period. On the same note, you should choose clothes made from natural fabrics such as cotton because they are more breathable and absorb sweat better and dries faster.

Choose a Small Handbag Over A Larger One

The lesser stuff you carry around during summer, the better. That’s because you’ll exert yourself less and sweat less. So, leave your gigantic handbag at home and opt for a smaller one instead. Be sure that whatever you choose can carry all your basics comfortably.

If you can buy several summer bags to match with your different outfits, that’s great. But, if you can’t, invest in a bag with a neutral brown tone as it matches with almost every summer outfit.

Hopefully, these simple fashion tips can help you stay stylish and comfortable so you can enjoy the summer season much better.

Fashion on Tropical Islands

Summer Fashions - cafashion - July 12, 2017

The tropical islands are usually quite humid and hot which makes picking fashionable attire an uphill task. Finding the right balance between comfort and style isn’t easy. Lucky for you, we got it all worked out. Here are a few pointers on how to pull off that tropical island look:

Bikinis

Bikinis are the most popular island tropic wear that are simple but do require a keen eye to pick out the right fit.

The festive open back, for example, offers a good combination of comfortable wear that is simply exquisite and easy on the eye. For the more conservative type, then the Halter Top bikini is what you’re looking for.

If you are daring and like to explore then the Jamaican Bikini was made for you. It comes in the glaring colors of the country infamous for partying and just generally having a good time. It gives you that easy going perception while showing that you aren’t afraid to let your hair down.

Dresses

Contrary to popular beliefs, maxi dresses are a great choice for the tropics. They maintain a classy traditional woman look while leaving you presentable as well.

A good example is the Diane Von Furstenberg which is a visually appealing dress with an array of colors like brown, green and blue that complement each other perfectly.

It makes for great evening wear for dinner by the beach but do not be mistaken, it is also a great daytime option.

Shirts

It is important to go for those that keep sensitive areas of your skin hidden as the tropical islands are notorious for unforgiving sun rays. Therefore, stay away from t-shirts of the polo kind or those of a similar design.

While short sleeved shirts are a good option always prioritize long sleeved shirts as they cover up much more skin. Go for classy and safe colors like white or grey which go well with just about anything else accompanying it.

Shorts

Denim and belted cargo shorts are a definite yes for the tropics. They are not only easy on the wallet but also easy to pull off. You simply cannot go wrong with these.

Furthermore, they allow enough room for the skin to breathe and have a laid back sense of class about them.

Hats

This is arguably the most overlooked part of tropic wear however they do have a significant role to play. The big brim cotton hats and the trilby are good options that add a touch of elegance to the rest of the look.

Tilly hats might not be at the top of the list when it comes to style, however, they do a wonderful job in fighting the sun’s brutal heat because of their special design and wide brim. Match it with the same colour clothing and it will fit right in.

Final Verdict

Always go for clothing made from wool or cotton as they are great at keeping the body color.  Bright colors like white should be your top priority as well because they also help reflect the sun’s rays. In a nutshell, go loose fitting clothes and avoid materials notorious for heat retention like silk.
